Pretty warm out there---90 degrees when I ran, but I was near a cold water fountain, so I was able to handle it. Warm-up 2 miles easy with strides and drills. 6 X 100 eemmhh Ran 3 sets of 800-400-200 cut downs. goal was 64's for 800--60's for 400--29 for 200 Set 1: 800--2:08.6 (62-66) 500 rec. 400--60.8 300 rec. 200-- 29.1 600 recovery Set 2: 800--2:07.7 (63-64) 500 rec. 400--60.1 300 rec. 200-- 29.1 600 recovery Set 3: 800--2:06.9 (63-63) 500 rec. 400--60.7 300 rec. 200-- 28.3 800 recovery Ran 2 miles easy. 8 miles total for the day. Felt very comfortable, but hard at the same time. I was starting to feel the hurt with about 50 to go in the 800's, and felt smooth and relaxed on the 400 and 200. Glad I was able to finish it strong and not fade. Definitely a confidence booster. The 800's really were the only part of the workout i was worried about, because I wasn't sure how strong I was through the 1st 400. |
