5-19-09 4 X 800 and 20 minute tempo run

Windy out there today, and the legs were feeling really flat. Maybe it was my choice in Breakfast and Lunch... Ice Cream Bars and pretzels. The 800's were fairly comfortable, but the effort into the wind was more then desirable. The 800's were supposed to be run @ 69 pace, the 20 minute tempo was supposed to start @ 5:00 and work down. Obviously I didn't have anything left for that, and the pace started off a lot slower then planned, and just went from there. Finished it off decent, as I managed to get a little quicker, but never got anywhere near 5:00 pace or for that matter; faster then 5:00 pace. Still solid workout with everything considering...sometimes it's all effort based. 800---2:18.3 (400 shag) 800---2:18.8 (400 shag) 800---2:17.6 (400 shag) 800---2:17.3 (200 shag) 20 minute tempo (800 splits: 2:39--2:38--2:38--2:36--2:36--2:38--2:33--2:31 ) |
